En la atormentada Belfast de los años 70, Gerry Conlon se enfrenta al IRA, su padre le manda a Inglaterra, pero acaba en el sitio equivocado en el momento equivocado en uno de los más lamentables errores legales de la historia reciente.
In the Name of the Father is a 1993 film directed by Jim Sheridan based on the true life story of the Guildford Four, four people falsely convicted of the IRA's Guildford pub bombing which killed 4 off-duty British soldiers and a civilian. The screenplay was adapted by Terry George and Jim Sheridan from the autobiography Proved Innocent by Gerry Conlon.
Au nom du père (In The Name Of The Father) est un film irlando-britannique de Jim Sheridan, adapté du livre autobiographique Proved Innocent de Gerry Conlon, sorti en France en 1994. Il a reçu l'Ours d'Or au Festival de Berlin en 1994, et a été nominé sept fois aux Oscars. Au nom du père est une critique virulente et sans concession du système judiciaire britannique lors des vagues d'attentats de l'IRA dans les années 1970.
