FÉLIX ÁNGEL

Félix Ángel, curador y director del Centro Cultural del BID, era ya un artista y autor reconocido en su Colombia natal antes de su llegada a Estados Unidos en 1977. Desde entonces, Ángel se ha convertido en un personaje familiar en los medios artísticos de Washington D.C., tanto en su faceta de artista independiente como de curador. Ángel ha expuesto su obra en más de 80 muestras individuales en América Latina y Estados Unidos, y ha participado en más de 250 muestras colectivas en Europa y el Hemisferio Occidental. Ha recibido tres premios internacionales. Entre sus obras literarias se cuenta una novela así como la compilación de comentarios y entrevistas con artistas de la ciudad colombiana de Medellín. Ángel es licenciado en arquitectura por la Universidad Nacional de Colombia en Medellín. Creador de la BIENAL INTERAMERICANA DE VIDEOARTE DEL BID

Félix Angel, curator of the IDB's Cultural Center, is an artist and author who was already well-known in his native Colombia before coming to the United States in 1977. Since then he has been a familiar figure in the Washington, D.C. art scene, both as an independent artist and also as a curator. Angel has presented more than 80 one-person exhibits in Latin America and the United States, and has participated in more than 250 group exhibits in the Western Hemisphere and Europe. He has received three international awards. Among his written works are a novel and a compilation of criticism and interviews of artists from the Colombian city of Medellín. Angel has a degree in architecture from the National University of Colombia, Medellín campus.
