El imperio del sol película producida y dirigida por Steven Spielberg. Está basada en el libro homónimo de J. G. Ballard escrito en el año 1984. La película de realización estadounidense fue estrenada en 1987. Está protagonizada por el actor Christian Bale. La ambientación, los paisajes y personajes están tan entrelazados entre sí que hacen que el film capture la esencia de la época.

Steven Spielberg directed the film, which stars Christian Bale, John Malkovich, Miranda Richardson, and Nigel Havers. The film tells the story of Jamie "Jim" Graham, a young boy who goes from living in a wealthy British family in Shanghai, to becoming a prisoner of war in Lunghua Civilian Assembly Center, a Japanese internment camp, during World War II.
