Las aventuras de Priscilla, reina del desierto es una película australiana dirigida por Stephan Elliott que se estrenó el 8 de septiembre de 1994. Anthony, Adam y Bernadette, dos gays y una transexual que trabajan como transformistas atraviesan el desierto australiano, desde Sidney hasta Alice Springs, para hacer una actuación en la sala de fiestas de un hotel. Hacen el viaje en un autobús, al que bautizan como «Priscilla», pasando por pequeñas pueblos muy diferentes a su cosmopolita ciudad. Durante el viaje se encuentran con actitudes muy diferentes desde gente que los rechaza, los mira como bichos raros, llegando Adam a sufrir una agresión homófoba. Mientras que otros los aceptan y aplauden su espectáculo e incluso se animan a participar en él.

The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert is a 1994 Australian comedy-drama film based around the journey of three drag queens travelling across the Australian Outback from Sydney to Alice Springs in a tour bus that they have named "Priscilla". The film was written and directed by Stephan Elliott and starred Hugo Weaving, Guy Pearce and Terence Stamp as the three drag queens, one of whom is a transsexual and the other two are homosexuals. Containing elements of comedy, the film's title is a pun on the fact that in English speaking cultures, a "queen" is a euphemism for a homosexual.

The film received predominantly positive reviews and won an Oscar for Best Costume Design. It was also screened in the Un Certain Regard section of the 1994 Cannes Film Festival. The film has provided the basis for a musical, Priscilla Queen of the Desert - the Musical, which opened in 2006 in Sydney, before subsequently also travelling to New Zealand and the United Kingdom

Le film relate l'histoire de deux drag queens et d'une transsexuelle traversant l'Australie, de Sydney à Alice Springs, dans un grand bus qu'ils ont baptisé "Priscilla". Jouent dans le film Hugo Weaving, Guy Pearce et Terence Stamp. Le film a été écrit et dirigé par Stephan Elliott.
